What is a Private Professional Fiduciary?
A professional fiduciary is an umbrella term used to describe a personal representative. We are licensed under the probate code and either hired by the family or appointed by the probate court. A Professional Fiduciary encompasses multiple job titles:
Executor
Trustee / Successor Trustee
Trust / Estate Administrator
Guardian
Conservator
Representative Payee
Why hire a Professional Fiduciary?
Death, disability, and disease cause upheaval and unexpected changes. Not only must you have a professionally drafted plan, you must select the appropriate person to carry out your wishes when you cannot do so yourself. Don’t assume that your children or friends can do an effective job, as whoever you select must take on 100 percent liability for everything in your estate.
Please consider a Professional Fiduciary instead of a loved one or friend to serve you. The tax, legal, financial, and medical decisions are often difficult and burdensome; and without training and objectivity, we’ve seen families and friendships dissolve into dysfunction. Worse, the Probate Courts have suffered budget cuts and straightening things out after the fact is very expensive and can take a very long time.
What does a Professional Fiduciary do?
We serve as a buffer and a bridge between family members.
We act as your advocate when dealing w/ the attorneys, bankers, insurance
companies, health care providers, caregivers, the courts, and various government agencies including the IRS.
We bring objectivity and extensive training to assist in making sound day-to-day financial and medical decisions.
We seek available public benefits, programs and alternative financing that will improve or supplement your personal resources and quality of life.
We provide the peace of mind that both your physical and financial interests are protected.
